Sad to Sick and Tired

I'm saddened to hear of all the heartache in the world. I do not watch the news now and stopped many years ago because it's 93% horrible. I realized the other day when I texted an old co-worker that she was battling cancer. I had not spoken to her in years but saw a young lady who reminded me of her, so I reached out. When she told me the devastating news, I was sad for a moment. Then I was pissed. Pissed that another story. Another life. Another battle. Another one I know has been hit, and their body is feeling the devasting blow of cancer. I sat thinking for a moment, Erikah, why are you so upset? You are normally sad but not upset; it was a total light bulb moment. I am hot as fish grease because my mother's life was taken 3 months ago by this detrimental disease. So, you say you are not angry until it hits you personally? In some instances, yes. What is it you are dealing with or continue to hear repeatedly that makes you sad until it hits you, then it turns to anger? Let's talk about it, but more than that, let's be about it. Cancer is taking our family members one at a time, and it seems like lately, it is in droves. I refuse to pray safe prayers or those one-and-twoosie prayers. I'm fighting on my knees, repenting for these United States, and asking God to heal our land. Join me. Study Daniel 9 (Daniel is repenting for his nation) and 2 Chronicles 7:14 (God told Solomon I see you, and I got you and your people, if...)

Living in, on, and for purpose, are you?
